The furniture sector: packaging needs and complexity
One of our clients, a manufacturer of furniture fasteners, needed to provide its customers with two different types of packages: complex packages, containing many different products, and then a series of packages with a smaller number of different pieces.
Complex packages require the use of a significant number of automatic counting modules: at the same time, a line, with many counting modules, is disproportionate and expensive when it must be used to produce bags with few products per pack internally different from each other.
A packaging line with two different kits simultaneously
As always, it is also the needs of our customers that push us to improve and grow in terms of innovation and service.
In this specific case, at Ramac we have created a solution that allows you to pack two different kits at the same time, with a single machine. Let’s see how.
A dedicated and user-friendly software for the loading system
In consideration of the above, we analyzed all the components of the different kits by creating a series of interface files with our automatic loading systems, which then allowed us to configure the loading system best suited to our customer’s needs.
The rest was done by our management software which tracks and decides the path of every single component that we have to pack.
The more complex processes are carried out in a standard configuration, while those with a few different components are associated in a single process. In this second case, two packages are made which contain different components, even with different lengths and each with its own coding. To guarantee the quality of what is packaged, the counting modules used have double control, counting plus weight control.
The result: optimization of costs and spaces
The number of packages to be produced annually, although important, made the purchase of two packaging lines too burdensome.
This solution allowed the customer to meet his needs, with a decidedly lower cost.
At the same time, this line made it possible to contain the space reserved for the packaging area.
Two different packs in a single line: all applications
We have designed a customized solution, through a special study, creating a product that can be used in various application sectors.
Having said that the furniture sector presents this need in many cases, this solution can be used from screws, to fixings, to small plastic or metal parts, up to toys, as well as to the sector of accessories for doors and windows, electrical parts and bathroom components.
